Child Maintenance Service, does it help children or destroy their families?

Brian Hudson completed 18 months of research that identified heightened death rates in parents associated with the Child Maintenance Service in comparison with the general population.

Joining Split the Difference to raise awareness and promote the decommissioning of the Child Maintenance Service (CMS), Brians research found there are over a 1000 deaths per year attributed to the CMS.

Through a series of freedom of information requests Split the Difference has attempted to secure data from the CMS of the statistics they hold but to date we have been successful.

As an organisation our work began when Ian Briggs, a father who lost his only son to suicide through the CMS approached us for help.  Later we were joined by Joanna Smith who also lost her brother Jonny, the same way.

We are told that the CMS have access to the death certificates of parents and yet they have informed us they do not hold this data.  We intend to pursue this further.  

Brian's research has been peer reviewed, it is indepth and has gained respect  from all who have reviewed it.
