Grasshopper Warbler nest

Grasshopper Warbler Locustella naevia at their nest amongst low gorse and purple moor grass. Holne Moor, Dartmoor, June 2010. The adults would rarely fly, preferring to walk in to feed the young. Just before the young fledged an Adder Vipera berus ate the young but the pair nested again nearby and successfully raised another brood.  Thanks to Mark Lawrence for showing me this nest.
