I'm not fixing that clunk noise from shocks or struts that sound bad.

This video describes the state of a broken upper mount on a shock absorber. Video does not go into detail about fixing it, or repairing the worn part, but does describe the noise associated with a failure of this type as it has a distinctive sound.  When This happens, spring failure, steering suspension problems can happen quickly.

 Vehicle in video is a 2000 Chevy Venture. GM makes a number of models of mini-van on this platform, Oldsmobile Silhouette, Pontiac Trans Sport, and Pontiac Montana. Chevy Uplander, and it's siblings may have suspensions, and strut configurations.
