sonible took a crucial part in planning and equipping a unique project: the Audio-Visual Immersion Lab (AVIL) at DTU Copenhagen.
AVIL is one of the biggest facilities in the world dedicated to practical research in the fields of psychoacoustics and especially hearing impairments.
Core of the installation are 3 sonible d:24 (http://www.sonible.com/en/d24) 24-channel power amplifiers that provide a total of 18kW power for the 68 speakers mounted in an anechoic chamber of 6 x 7 x 8m size.
64 KEF LS50 equally distributed on a spherical surface allow for Ambisonics sound field reconstruction of highest precision. Due to the unique coverage of coaxial drivers this reconstruction meets the highest standards of medical research. Four high grade custom 2x10inch subwoofers designed and built by sonible complete the setup.
