Mayo Clinic Consensus Report On Membranous Nephropathy

Dr. Fernando Fervenza, a Professor of Medicine in Nephrology and Hypertension, and Dr. Sanjeev Sethi, a Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, both at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, review their article appearing online early and in the November 2023 issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings, where they describe the revolutionary advances in the understanding of membranous nephropathy and the discovery of novel target antigens and their respective autoantibodies. They note these discoveries have challenged the traditional classification of membranous nephropathy into primary and secondary forms.
