Ajit Deol was an actor-director and worked for both Bollywood and Punjabi cinema. He was married to Usha Deol He is a proud father of Abhay Singh Deol who is a successful Bollywood actor and producer. Ajit Deol had done a lot of films besides being known for his best Bollywood hits like Khhotte Sikkay (1974), Meharbaani (1982) and Barsaat (1995). He died due to health issues in the year of 2015. Dharmendras younger brother. Father of bollywood actor Abhay Deol, Uncle to Sunny , Bobby, Esha Deol.
Later in his career used the screen names Kanwar Ajit, Kanwar Ajit Singh, Kunwar Ajit, Ajit Singh Deol. mostly credited as kanwar Ajit Singh.
Debuted as a leading man in 'Soldier as Thakur Daler Singh" (1969). Used the screen name Kumar Ajit.
Uncle to actors Randeep Arya and Ramandeep Arya ( Cousin Veerendra's son's)
Ajit Singh Deol and his first cousin actor Veerendra married two sister's on the same day. Ajit to Usha. Veerendra to Pammi. Usha and Pammi are sisters.
Starred in the shelved movie " Jahan Jaagey Wahan Savera" opposite Laxmi Chhaya .This was in 1971.
Was to debut in 1965 in the film "Chilman" under the name Abhay. The film was shelved and he debuted years later with another name.,.
Ajit Singh Deol produced 'Pratiggya (1975), Dillagi (1978), Meharbaani (1982), Veertaa (1993). And directed- Santo Banto (1976), Meharbaani (1982). And Write the story of Pratiggya (1975), Meharbaani (1982) & Putt JattanDe )1983).

VEERENDRA (1948-1988) was the famous film maker of Punjab, actor, writer producer, director, cousin brother of Dharmendra and Ajit Singh Deol. He made his debut with the film 'Teri Meri Ek Jindri' (1975) featuring Dharmendra. Veerendra made nearly 25 films in his 12 year career including Lambardarni, Sarpanch, Batwara and Yaari Jatt Di. He also tried his hand at Hindi films such as Khel Muqaddar Ka (1981) and Do Chehere (1977). he was shot to death in 1988 and is survived by his wife pammi and his two sons, Randeep and Ramandeep Arya.
