This section is about assessment of HLA profile of a person for organ transplant. Extent of assessment depends on type of organ transplant, available time and resources.
There are three aspects of this assessment:
- HLA typing
- Assessment of HLA antibodies
- Crossmatch
This section has discussion about:
- HLA antigen typing
- Identification of HLA alleles by Sequence specific oligonucleotide (SSOP-PCR), Sequence specific primers (SSP- PCR) and Real time PCR.
- Assessment of PRA
- Assessment of HLA antigens by Solid Phase Assays
- Single antigen Bead testing
- CDC Crossmatch
- Flow Crossmatch and Virtual Crossmatch.
