How To Install a Chevy Ignition Key Tumbler

In Part 2.1 of the
In Part 2.1 of the C3 Corvette Ignition Switch series, I cover the installation of the key switch tumbler and all associated components, including the locking rack, lock pin, and sector gear.
As I mentioned in Part 1, this demo uses a 1969 Corvette standard steering column.
The ignition key switch can be replaced with the column in the car since all you would be replacing is the tumbler. The sector gear is kept in place by the spring-loaded rack. You still need to remove many parts to replace the tumbler, so this is an involved job no matter how you look at it.
Having said that, these videos will help you understand how the systems work together.
