The Art of Tessellation

This video is aimed at my 2nd and 3rd grade students and introduces them to the concept of tessellation with a grid of overlapping circles. This is a fun, satisfying and slightly challenging activity that requires precision and focus. I've been impressed with how enthusiastically my students got into geometry this year. It's a wonderful counter point to figurative and narrative artwork and supports their math skills.
