Officer Involved Shooting 07 22 22 BWC

On Friday, July 22, 2022, an officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office observed a vehicle matching the description of an earlier suspect vehicle in a reported shooting incident.  As the officer approached the 2400 block of W. 45th Street, one of the occupants exited the vehicle, firing multiple rounds at the officer.  The officer was not struck and was able to return fire.  The suspect vehicle fled, and a pursuit was initiated.  The several mile pursuit ended at Busch Drive and Zoo Parkway, when the suspect vehicle ran a stop sign, struck another vehicle and crashed into a wood line.  The following BWC was recorded as officers approached the vehicle and suspects at the crash site...
