How to Share a Google File Link: Docs, Sheets, Forms, and Slides

In this video I walk you through how to correctly share your Google Doc, Slide, Sheet, or Form file using a link by adjusting the link permissions settings.  If you simply copy a link without first changing the link settings, it is likely that the recipient of the link will not actually have access to view, collaborate, or edit the file when they click on the link.  This example uses a Google Doc file but the process is the same for sharing a link to a Google Slide, Sheet, or Form file.

This is a very important skill I try to teach my students at the beginning of a course so I do not receive assignments with links I cannot access.
