From June 1 to 3, 1965, the King of Afghanistan, Mohammed Zaher Shah, was a guest of France, a country he appreciated and knew well: he continued his studies there, and, in 1964, he had a new Constitution drawn up, inspired by the Fifth Republic, thus transforming the constitutional monarchy into a parliamentary monarchy.
