All tie downs applications are vehicle specific. This means you don't have to drill into your truck frame in order to install our frame-mounted tie downs with the exception of some VERY old model year trucks. About 99 percent of all applications are no-drill.
Torklift truck camper tie downs are the best option on the market because they are truly frame-mounted. This is important because the frame is the strongest part of your truck. There are other manufacturers who will tell you that their tie downs are frame mounted by they are only frame mounted in a sense the same way a car stereo is frame mounted.
At our dealership we have unfortunately had to repair totaled truck beds that had cracks running underneath due to these other brands that claim to be frame mounted. You did not by an expensive truck only to attach tie downs to the bed sheet metal and bumper - it is not worth damaging your truck with cracked paint which leads to rusting either.
With the Torklift tie downs they are attached to the truck frame - period. We don't mess around. It doesn't matter whether you have a light weight or heavy camper - you don't want to have your camper secured to the sheet metal and bumper of the bed. Also - don't mess around with homemade truck camper tie downs. When you have a truck and camper barreling down the freeway at 60 MPH you need to be safe and the people around you need to be safe.
