G# Piano Chord | G Sharp Major 3-note Chord (Triad) and how to do inversions of the chord.
From the chord symbol G# we get this information:
G# is the root note - The basis that gives name to the chord
G# is a 3-note chord - a triad
G# is a major chord
Because G# is a 3-note chord, a triad, it also has three different inversions. An inversion means that once you have found the 3 notes of your chord - it doesn’t matter which note is at the top of the chord, in the middle of the chord - or in the bottom of the chord. As long as you only use the same three notes - it’s still the same chord.
G# Piano Chord - Root inversion (Root note at the bottom of the chord): G# - B# - D#
G# Piano Chord - 1st. inversion (Root note at the top of the chord): B# - D# - G#
G# Piano Chord - 2nd. inversion (Root note in the middle of the chord): D# - G# - B#
G# Piano Chord is the first chord of the G# Major Scale - Notes in the scale are:
G# - A# - B# - C# - D# - E# - F## - G#
