Election 2023: Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, in response to Union Minister Smriti Irani's allegations against Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel, criticized the BJP's strategy during election seasons. Venugopal claimed that the BJP consistently relies on agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax department as their primary tools. KC Venugopal cited instances from previous elections, such as in Karnataka, where over 100 Congress candidates were subjected to raids during the election period. KC Venugopal expressed confidence in Congress's prospects in the upcoming elections in five states, including Mizoram, and contended that the public sentiment is clear in their favor. KC Venugopal asserted that the BJP's primary objective is to tarnish the image of the CMs of Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, despite the popularity of their governments and the successful implementation of schemes benefiting the people in these states.
