Isn't she lovely?
Yes, she is a lovely box fan from Cosmos. I just found out that Cosmos once had this eccentric fan lineup, the 9" mini box fan.
Who would have thought that this plastic-box beauty could attract my attention so much when I found it in new condition, unused, but the original box and manual book had been thrown away by the seller because they had been eaten by termites. This fan stood out among the other new old stock exhaust fan line-ups and thanks to the colorful sticker, it seemed to be calling for me to check, and in an instant, without thinking twice, I immediately bought this fan and took it home.
So here is the Cosmos Lovely Box Fan model BMW, with a plain design equipped with a horizontal stacked type grill pattern and turquoise green blades that make this fan look neutral and timeless. IMO, this fan is even 1000% more attractive and cute with its colorful stickers that say several slogans such as "New Fashion", "Cosmos Lovely Box Fan" and others which make me reluctant to open the stickers.
When I opened the fan casing to see its innards, I was quite surprised to find out that this machine actually uses dual voltage, 110v and 220v, which made me guess that it was produced in the early 90s or late 80s.
Performance-wise, this fan might be in line with one of the sticker slogans, "Hi-Speed, Low Energy Cooling Fan", where it spins really fast, but for 35W, I don't think it's efficient. This fan uses the same blade as my Cosmos 25 AU, only the color seems to be more bluish/turquoise, so that when operated, the RPM tends to be fast, but perhaps because its square housing, the airflow tends to be smooth and spread out. Also, the blades are not balanced, so this fan can move wherever it wants when turned on. Lovely!
In terms of function, I think this fan could possibly be the most rigid portable fan for daily usage. How could it not be, it is only in the shape of a simple box, where the fan head cannot be adjusted up/down, nor can it function as air circulation because its housing shape is inadequate and the wind spreads out. Also, don't forget how loud it's when operated, which makes it not suitable to function as a white noise fan like its cousin, the MIRA box fan @TheFanUniverse has. However, this fan can still be used as an exhaust fan in the window, or just for its main function, a lovely cooling fan.
