Pissarro: Father of Impressionism was open at the Ashmolean Museum (Oxford, UK) until 12 June 2022. www.ashmolean.org

The works on display were drawn from the Ashmolean's extensive collections, as well as international loans and spanned Pissarro's entire career. This was the first show in Britain in 20 years devoted to Pissarro's life and legacy. It featured 120 works of art, 80 by Pissarro himself and 40 by his friends and contemporaries, with 8 paintings on display for the first time in this country.

Camille Pissarro (1830–1903) is one of the most celebrated artists of 19th-century France and a central figure in Impressionism. Considered a father-figure to many in the movement, his work was enormously influential for many artists, including Claude Monet and Paul Cézanne.
