Driving from Engelberg (Canton of Obwalden) to Beckenried (Canton of Nidwalden) on Lake Lucerne. Enjoy a scenic drive from the important mountain resort down through the Engelberg valley to the shores of the largest lake in central Switzerland.
The start of this scenic drive is Engelberg, a well-known village resort and a municipality in the canton of Obwalden with about 4’200 inhabitants. The village is surrounded by important mountain peaks, such as the Titlis in the south (3’238 m), the highest point within the municipal boundaries.
Engelberg is home to three sites of Swiss cultural heritage of national importance: the Engelberg Monastery, the manor house in Grafenort and the Holy Cross Chapel in Grafenort.
