This is an advanced pranayama
If you’re a beginner you may want to start with a shorter duration such as 5 or 10 second breath retention and work your way up , depending on your comfort

This meditation makes you pure! Cleanses the energy even aiding in digestion and elimination

Kumbhaka or breath retention improves cognitive function, as well as expands the lung capacity, promoting stress relief and focused concentration. Holding the breath Allows the body to Hold and retain more oxygen  enhancing overall energy and vitality and has been said to make you live a long life!

Start by sitting on your knees in Varasana or “rock pose” placing the right arm on top of the left. Putting the pressure on the arms and not the buttocks. Inhale and hold the breath for 25 seconds then release. Keep the arms firm and parallel to the heart center  
In this video we do 3 rounds of Kumbhaka. You may choose to do more or less.
