Happy Memorial Day! In this video, I did some initial cutting with an early 19th century British artillery saber that I recently bought from an online antique dealer. Based on the 1796 light cavalry saber, the blade on this artillery saber is 30 inches long (3 inches shorter than the 1796). This artillery saber has a cast iron grip, making the sword very durable. This sword was also the basis for the later 1896 Indian mountain artillery saber, which saw use in World War 1. With its efficient cutting blade, super tough heat treatment and rock solid hilt construction, I find this sword to be an excellent and durable saber for cutting practice.
