Pakistan opens more border centres to expedite repatriation of undocumented Afghans

Pakistan is opening more border centres to speed up the return of tens of thousands of undocumented Afghan nationals, as it begins the crackdown on illegal immigrants. Facilities at the northwestern border crossing of Torkham -- the busiest checkpoint through which most are re-entering Afghanistan -- have been expanded three times to cater to the rising number of returnees. Pakistan said more than 129,000 have crossed at Torkham, while more than 38,000 others have crossed through Chaman in Balochistan province.
