These mouthpieces are pretty close to the Bach 7C rim size, and that's what I consdier medium sized. In order of play:
- Reeves 7C; fairly deep but a modified V/C in my opinion. A fairly tight throat - and, to my way of thinking, a fantastic mouthpiece for a Middle School player... Or anyone else. :)
- Patrick CR5Z; a fairly deep cup, rather bowl shaped, but with a 28 drill. This is a very intersting piece. If you like deeper cups, but slightly tighter drills, this is fantastic.
- Schilke 12B4; this is probably more of a 5 sized rim, a bit larger diameter than these others. Very comfy, very soft inner rim that yields a nice, big sound.
- Reeves 42C. I really like this mouthpiece and play it more than any other. Not quite as deep as a Bach 3C, but close. It does have a larger drill size though, it's a 26 drill. With a relaxed throat, it's a great everyday, do it all mouthpiece. I use a Warburton 6 rim on it.
- Warburton 6MD. A very nice mouthpiece, the shallowest cup of these 5, but still close to a medium depth. Fantastic piece with your choice of backbores.
