A small rock in the middle of the sea - windswept and full of history: this is Helgoland, Germany's only offshore island. 70 kilometers from the coast, Anne Willmes not only discovers the smallest nature reserve and the largest seal colony, but also the northernmost allotment garden in Germany. Come along and enjoy the peace and quiet as well as meeting the islanders who have exciting stories to tell! A fish sandwich at one of the colorful lobster booths is a must, as is a day trip to the tiny side island "Düne" and a visit to Radio Ankerherz, the only island radio. A stiff breeze makes circumnavigating the island by boat an adventure.
