Here is how it starts; you meet a guy; you like each other; you start hanging out. You haven't had a conversation about where this relationship is going yet, and what you expect from this relationship. At some point you became intimate with your guy. You seem to have a pretty good relationship; and it seems to be going to where you want it to be - to the next level of commitment. You start to feel that your relationship is getting serious. And then suddenly he pulls away. He starts calling you less; he doesn't want to see you as much; He starts to come up with excuses why he can't see you; why he can't do things that you had planned before; Perhaps his friend has invited him to a birthday party and you are not invited. He starts working longer ours, makes commitments to his family and friends, He cannot see you nearly as much. If you have been reading articles online and relationship books, dating books, relationship advice you probably already know that you shouldn't chase the guy. You realize that if you want to keep a guy you need to give him space. You give him space, but your relationship doesn't get any better. He still wants to see you, but he doesn't want to move the relationship to the next level. Allowing your guy to have his space doesn't allow you to develop a relationship. Relationships don't develop from two individuals having their own space. Relationships develop over time, when people get closer and closer together. That's how you know you are moving toward commitment. If you continue giving your guy space, you won't develop bond with you, and your relationship won't move forward. Now you are getting confused. He uses the space you give him to detach from you, thus your relationship doesn't progress. You want to know if your relationship is going anywhere or if you should move on. You don't want to have a serious talk because it has to be the guy initiating the serious talk.
Now we are going to talk about the relationships why this happens. I want you to listen to an interview I had with a guy. He is talking form his own experience. He used to date a girl, and after a couple of weeks she started to get serious. She wanted to move to the next level, but he wasn't ready and he pulled away. When a guy isn't ready for the next level in a relationship, the guy wants to stay in the moment. The woman however acts and feels as if their relationship was more serious than what he wants. Usually the guy will feel a lot of pressure when this happens. He is not sure if that's what he wants. The woman has both feet in the relationship, but I am not sure how I feel about it. This is when men withdraw from the relationship and pull away completely.
