We're showing you how we built our pallet bar for our new showroom!

We used old pallets that we had lying around but you can buy some pallet slats if you haven't got any or don't feel comfortable taking them apart.

To build the frame, we used some CLS to keep it sturdy. We're also using chipboard for the top and sides but we suggest using plywood if you're making your bar for outside.

To make you need a:
Hammer
Wood screws
Tape measure
Drill
Pen or pencil
Spirit level
Saw - we use a mitre saw

Measure the area you want the bar to go in and build a rectangular frame from the CLS.

Add in vertical supports every 400-600mm depending on the weight that will be going on it or any shelves you may be putting in.

Screw the chipboard/ plywood onto the CLS to give the bar more support. Screw it onto the vertical supports for extra support.

Screw the pallet slats onto the chipboard on the front of the bar to give it a nice pallet-effect finish. We screw these at the top and bottom and in the middle for maximum support.

We wanted strip lights under our pallet bar so we added 60mm to any facing edge of the top bit of chipboard before cutting it to allow for this.

We added some CLS to the under-hang to conceal the LED strip lights. Add some pallet slats to the front edge to give it a nice finish.

Sand down the bar to make it smooth and safe.

You can then do whatever you want with it but we've painted it with yacht varnish to give it a slightly darker stain, while making it waterproof.

Tuck the LED strip lights between the CLS and the bar and put screws in the bottom of the CLS to keep the lights in place. Be careful to not screw through the lights.

As our bar is in our new showroom, we've letters of our company name to add onto it. Use a long piece of CLS and a spirit level to line a printed name template to make sure the name is on straight.

Put the letter on the name template and add marker nails to know where to put the letter back on once glued.

Remove the letter and glue the back. Make sure that there's not too much glue on the edge.

Attach it back in place using the marker nails.

Remember to remove the nails after.

We hope that this video has been useful and that you like our pallet bar! Come down to our showroom to see it in person!
