Bursting Strength tester is a
Bursting Strength tester is a measure of resistance to rupture when subjected to controlled Hydraullic Pressure .
Operational Principle
It is based on uniform hydraulic pressure being applied by rubber diaphragm in a manner that test piece & rubber diaphragm are free to bulge together until the test piece is broken/rupture, maximum range of sustained hydraulic pressure indicates the bursting value of that particular sample .
Applications
Paper , cardboard , corrugated boxes, leather , fabrics , plastic films , plastic sheet , foils etc.
Operating procedure
Verification of calibration
BS values can be verified by making use of calibrated AL foils available in different ranges.
Refilling of glycerin

2. Memory to hold up to 9 test reading

4. High & low selectable range of testing .

After testing 200-300 samples diaphragm should be replaced.
2. what is the adavantage of peak/normal mode?
Peak Hold mode is used for keeping maximum value of test result on
digital indicator, normal mode is being used for calibration purpose .
3. Is there any relation b/w GSM value and BS value?
yes , as BF= BS(g/cm2)/grammage value(g/m2) so BS is directly proportional to GSM value
4. Maximum no. of ply of corrugated sample that we can test?
Its depend on flute length & BS value that to be tested (upto 38 kg/cm2 can be tested)
5. what is the advantage of feature lock key
Internal setting cannot be changed by keeping this feature lock
6. Does presence of moisture content effects BS value?
yes , higher moisture content will lead to lower BS value and vice versa
