We made the Great Dango
We made the Great Dango Family from Clannad with Rachel from Kawaii Sweet World! Learn how and watch along :)
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup sweet rice flour
3/4 cup tofu
4-8 tbsp. sugar
Food coloring / Gel coloring
(matcha powder for green)
Edible markers
Combine your rice flour, tofu, and sugar. Knead together until it becomes a smooth dough. Divide this dough into as many different colors as you want your dango to be!
Add your food/gel coloring to each segment of dough individually. If you want to get creative, you can use matcha powder or cocoa powder to color. Once colored, separate the dough into smaller segments to roll into balls.
Roll your dough into small balls, about one inch to one and a half inch wide. If you want, you can also roll a ball around some red bean paste to give it some extra flavor when you eat it.
Bring a pot of water to a boil and add your dough balls. Let them cook for 1-2 minutes, then remove and cool them in an ice water bath for 5 minutes. Remove and dry afterwards.
You can decorate your dango with an edible marker or just stick them on a skewer and call it a day! Enjoy these delicious treats.
