On the 22nd of March,
On the 22nd of March, 2022, officers in Ohio were called to a scene of an accident on Interstate 271 involving a Ford Taurus which had collided with the median. The 59-year-old woman behind the wheel, who was uninjured. The police asked her to step out of her car to perform Field Sobriety Tests.
Upon exiting the car, she confessed to the officers that she had been consuming alcohol. As the police tried to arrest her, she started crying and collapsing on the ground.
After a short period, the police managed to arrest her and get her into the patrol car to be transported to the detention center.
Upon reaching the jail, she consented to a breathalyzer test which revealed a BAC level of 0.20, twice the legal limit of 0.08. Following the test results, the police informed her that her next destination would be Beachwood City Jail. This news caused the suspect to become upset.
At the jail, the officers tried to make her booking process as comfortable as possible, acknowledging her PTSD and past. They agreed to handcuff her in the front instead of the back, provided she remained cooperative. After being handcuffed again, she was transported to Beachwood City Jail.
