We demonstrate 3 venipuncture techniques to find veins easily, draw blood in one go and how to draw blood from rolling veins. We show you the reasons behind our system, and what to do for different types of veins. We also discuss reducing pain and improving accuracy of the sample.

I’m very sorry about the poor quality of the tourniquet knot shot, I will be filming a slow motion version for our up-coming videos which will show it properly.

We are working as hard as possible to get the rest of the videos out, we thank you for your patience.

We are just starting out with these instructional videos, having released a donning and doffing PPE video earlier this year which was featured on the ACEM website, among other sites.  Please see our channel for more details.

This video is for educational purposes only, and needs to be complemented by your local policies, protocols and training programs.  We are in the process of building our own resource for this purpose, of which this video is a part.

Obviously we unfortunately cannot offer medical advice on this platform, and we ask that you consult your physician or care provider should you have queries.  I will do my best to answer general questions.

Please consider sharing this video with as many healthcare professionals as possible, and should you wish to embed this on your website, we would be delighted.

However, please also consider the following:

Unless otherwise indicated, all medical imagery has been consented by the patient/legal guardian for the exclusive use by myself, Dr Russell Perera, with only one purpose; pursuit of medical excellence via education.
I have personally taken all imagery, and as such I am in possession of copywrite, along with all necessary consent forms for publication.
In line with GDPR, as you know, patients have the right to remove their imagery at any point in time by contacting WebMedics. As such, whilst sharing of the video is encouraged, duplication, downloading or reproduction in any form is strictly prohibited in order to preserve the right of our patients to remove their images at will.
We respect the privacy of everyone who consented to participate in this educational video.
We hope you join us in respecting their privacy by feeling free to share this video widely for its educational purpose, whilst not downloading and reposting the video, replicating it by any means, or any of its content elsewhere other than by sharing/embedding this video.
Embedding is encouraged, as WebMedics will still be able to adjust/blur/edit/remove patients at their request, whilst leaving the rest of the video intact for you.
This is to ensure we comply with both HIPAA and GDPR, however moreover it is to respect the dignity of all our supporters and patients who, often in their time of duress or illness, volunteered themselves to the assistance of others.
We are committed to the advancement of medical education, and their consent to use of images and video of their medical condition(s) to this end has been granted exclusively to us, for exclusively this purpose. Violation of this will be addressed via all available avenues out of respect to our patients, and our commitment to continuing to bring you more medical imagery worthy of your time.
As such, whilst we encourage embedding this video far and wide in order to promote medical education, we respectfully request that the video is not downloaded, altered and reposted in any way in order to respect our patients and staff.
If you have any queries in this regard, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] FAO: Legal and Licensing and we will do our best to assist.
As already stated, sharing and embedding this video is encouraged; it will hopefully help spread knowledge and improve medical care for our patients, and we are deeply grateful to all who contributed to making these videos possible.
If you are a patient and wish to withdraw your consent for use of aforementioned imagery, please contact me at [email protected] and we will assist you in the removal process at your earliest convenience.

If you are the original author of a public domain image used in this video (of which there is only one: the COPD Lung pathology image) and you are unsatisfied with the way in which it has been employed, we will respect your wishes to have it removed, the request for which can be made by the aforementioned email address.
Please note, no medical advice will be offered via the email address or the comments section; please consult your physician should you have any medical queries.
Thank you for your understanding. I hope this video, and other videos on our channel are useful to you or someone you know.
All the very best, and thank you for your time.
Russ
