Channing Tatum, the Hollywood heartthrob who went from stripper to A-lister, marks his 40th birthday, Sunday (26 APRIL 2020).
Born 26 April 1980, the star worked as a stripper for a few months at the age of 19, before finding breakthrough success on the big screen with 2006 teen hits including "She's The Man" and "Step Up" -which co-starred his now ex-wife Jenna Dewan.
He later expanded his career to include comedy, including "21 Jump Street" and "Hail Caesar"; romance, such as "The Vow," action including "White House Down" and acclaimed drama, like "Foxcatcher".
One of his best loved roles builds on his expertise using his dance moves to tantalise - "Magic Mike," which he also produced, follows Tatum as a veteran stripper who teachers a newcomer about the business, while also trying to find a balance between his job and his real life.
The Steven Soderbergh film sparked a sequel and live show, which Tatum created and directed, that has a Las Vegas residency.
The star makes his directorial debut with the upcoming "Dog," as co-director with Reid Carolin.
