Macron meets Tshisekedi, pledges support for DRC

(12 Nov 2019) French President Emmanuel Macron and Democratic Republic of Congo President Felix Tshisekedi met on Tuesday for talks at the Elysee Palace in Paris.
Macron said they discussed the security threat in DRC from armed groups, some of which are linked to the Islamic State group.
He said France will support DRC's action to tackle these groups through military action and diplomacy.
Macron also announced a 65 million euro investment in DRC to support the development of education, agriculture, health and culture.
