Ignore DJI’s GEO fencing? Legal you need to know!

DJI products now come with GEO fencing abilities. What does this mean? Whenever you go to fly and you check off those boxes that read: You have permission to fly/you accept liability, it means if there is an incident, DJI can and will provide your personal information to the authorities so they can investigate you more.

This video is not created to stir up anti government feelings with the FAA or big brother mentality, but rather explain exactly what you are agreeing to whenever you check off those two boxes in a GEO fenced area.

How do you stay safe? Aside from complying to FAA rules, you can go a step further and download a free app called AIRMAP. It's a map where it enables you to create flight logs and send them to nearby air traffic control towers so they can notify nearby pilots of your UAV flight details. This should act as another level of legal safety when you are flying IMO and separate you from the other more dangerous flyers/pilots out there.
