Armor in Elden Ring is
Armor in Elden Ring is a protective gear that is worn by the player's character which grants various bonus effects and protection and resistances from damages and status effects. In Elden Ring, armor is divided into pieces such as Helms, Chest Armor, Gauntlets, and Leg Armor. Equipping a set of armor grants a player buffs, but players can also mix and match armor pieces to obtain a certain percentage of defensive properties. Many Armor pieces have Special Effects. See Equipment with Special Effects for a list of items with unique properties that affect your stats or performance.
Armor Sets are complete combinations of individual Armor in Elden Ring. Armor Sets provides players with protection and resistances against all types of damage such as Magic, Fire, Light or Holy. Wearing Armor also changes the character's appearance. Wearing all Set pieces won't grant any additional effects.

As Tarnished—exiles from the Lands Between who lost the Ring's grace and are summoned back after the Shattering, players must traverse the realm to ultimately find all the Great Runes, restore the Elden Ring, and become the Elden Lord.
