I've been in computers since 1993. Before I got into computers I went to Eastern Illinois University to become a teacher.
What does that mean for you as far as computer and cell phone lessons...?
It means I not only understand computers, cell phones and tablets and how to troubleshoot them, it means I went to school to learn to teach. There's a HUGE difference between someone who has knowledge and someone who knows how to transfer that knowledge to another person in an efficient, effective and fun manner.
This is the difference between you or your grandpa and grandma or mom and dad having fun with their new computer, cell phone or tablet and being afraid of it while at the same time not wanting to bother you.
I've seen the frustration of learning to use a computer, cell phone or tablet on both sides
Hearing phrases from people who love you such as
"Everyone knows this" and "You just can't learn this"
Are horrible and yet, out of frustration because your niece or grandson doesn't know how to teach will sometimes say those hurtful things. Both sides end up feeling bad. You're afraid to make a mistake because you don't want your nephew or granddaughter to get upset with you. Nephew and niece are frustrated because they don't know how to teach something they were raised with and by the way taught how to use in school by professional educators such as myself.
