Cleaning top & bottom suction gate areas on Bissel Pro Heat 2x Pet Carpet Cleaner

After some troubleshooting and undoing
After some troubleshooting and undoing many screws that seems like they'd help remove pieces (but really don't), I finally figured out the best way to access and clean those carpet cleaner suction gate areas and remove any pet hair gunk build-up. And all it requires is a screw driver and a metal paperclip.
Our poor little dog was sick last night, all over the house. After using our Bissel Pro Heat 2x Pet Carpet Cleaner for quite a few hours, I wanted to clean out the suction areas before storing it back in the closet.
It says right on the machine that you're supposed to clean out the suction gate regularly, but this Bissel carpet cleaner isn't designed very well for routine cleaning because it's not intuitive how you're supposed to access those suction gate areas. I took out my pink tool kit and started unscrewing screws, trying to figure out the best ways to clean these hard-to-reach suction areas.
