The West Australian Space Radar
The West Australian Space Radar (WASR) is the latest addition to our network of phased array space radars powering LeoLabs Vertex™, our vertically integrated space operations stack.
In collaboration with the Kiwi Space Radar, WASR enables superior tracking and monitoring of medium to high inclination resident space objects in LEO. This site also enables increased surveillance of the Southern Hemisphere in the Indo-Pacific region, an area where the U.S. and allied nations have historically lacked coverage and visibility.
This additional coverage helps us reduce the time elapsed between observations (i.e., the revisit rate). This, in turn, enables us to more accurately study and monitor activities in space, from potential collisions and satellite maneuvers to proximity operations and anti-satellite weapon tests.
