A Shruti Box is a traditional Indian instrument, which is used for playing melodies. The sound of the Shruti Box is soothing and can be used to calm down one's mind. It may also be used to meditate while chanting the mantra.

Is a small, wooden box with a metal ball inside it made of bronze or brass. The instrument is played by striking it with one’s finger in the same way as one would play the hammered dulcimer. It emits different sound frequencies in each direction depending on what side of the box you are hitting it from - left or right, top or bottom, front or back due to its asymmetric design which makes it perfect for use during meditation sessions that call for peace and calmness.

It used to be mainly used in religious ceremonies. It has a beautiful, soothing melody and it is believed to have healing powers. It produces a continuous sound by shaking the bells or by pressing the keys on the side of the box with their fingers. It has been said to be able to soothe your soul and help you feel more relaxed and at peace with oneself.

Is a percussion instrument  that is composed of a metal frame and a set of tuned metal plates that are suspended over the frame releasing sounds that captures the essence of the meditative state. It synchronizes the heart beat and breathing to produce a soothing sound that can be used as a key for meditation.

The shruti box is a medium to spread anekantavada through music and soothing sounds. Anekantavada is a word in Sanskrit, which means “many point of views”. It is the philosophical view that there are always multiple mutually exclusive realities and truths simultaneously. This music could also be helpful in meditation and relaxation by inducing calmness, peace, and comfort to the listener’s mind.

The word "anekantavada" means "many-sidedness". Anekantavada is a philosophical concept from Jainism that encompasses multiple perspectives, the idea that truth has more than one side, so it can be seen from different angles or points of view without any one being absolutely true on its own. This practice originated from the teachings of Mahavira, which have been passed down for generations among Jains. It is now observed by them as a form of silent worship.

Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years as a way to clear the mind and find peace, but it is not always easy to find time or practice in today’s world.

Let’s sit down and meditate now.

With love, Spiritualia :)
