They only knew of the millennial reign of Christ.

That's all they knew in the Old Testament. That's all the prophets spoke about. Everything after the millennial reign of Christ is a New Testament revelation given by Jesus Christ himself to the church.

So, everything about the heavens and the place that God is preparing for us The New Jerusalem coming out of heaven and landing on planet earth, the recreated heaven and earth.

That's the Old Testament too, but the details of it are found only in the New Testament.

They are a gift and a blessing for us, and they are held out for us in the final chapters of Revelation so that we will never forget that this isn't home. I mean, there's a part of me honestly, I'm so glad this isn't home!
