Inagaw at itinapon umano ng mga tauhan ng China Coast Guard ang supply na inihatid sa pamamagitan ng airdrop operations malapit sa BRP Sierra Madre.
Ayon sa Armed Forces of the Philippines, ito ang unang pagkakataon na lumapit sa barko ng Pilipinas ang Chinese forces kaya naalarma ang mga sundalo at nagbitbit ng armas.
