Harvest dance of kerala--
On harvesting day, the farmers with sickles and scythes in their hands set out to reap the ripe crop. They sing and dance to the beating of drums. All young and old, men and women, are put to the job.  The completion of harvesting marks the end of the growing season, or the growing cycle for a particular crop, and the social importance of this event makes it the focus of seasonal celebrations such as harvest festivals, found in many religions.In Kerala onam is celebrated as a harvest festival too.
