ನಾನು (ರೇಣುಕಾ )ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಬೇಗ ಎದ್ದು ಸೂರ್ಯೋದಯದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, ತೋಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕನ್ ಮಾಡಲು ಹಸಿಮೆಣಸಿನಕಾಯಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದೆನು. ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರ ಮತ್ತು ತಂದೆಯವರು ಕೊತ್ತಂಬರಿ ಬೀಜ ಬಿತ್ತನೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಹೊಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರು.
ನಾನು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಗಿನ ಉಪಹಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸಿಹಿ ಗೋಧಿ ಕಡಬು ಮಾಡಲು ಬೆಲ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ಗೋಧಿ ಹಿಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿ ಚಿಕ್ಕ, ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಬಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಬಿಸಿ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಯಿಸಿ ಒಣ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿ, ಗೋಡಂಬಿ, ತುಪ್ಪದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸೇವಿಸಿದೆನು.ಈ ದಿನ ನನ್ನ ಅತ್ತೆಯ ಮಗಳು ದೀಪಾ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬರುವವಳಿದ್ದಳು ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಚಿಕನ್ ಎಂದರೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಇಷ್ಟ ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅವಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಅಡುಗೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಕೋಳಿ ಮಾಂಸ, ಮಸಾಲೆ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನ ಮೊದಲೇ ಸಜ್ಜುಗೋಳಿಸಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನು.
ಮನೆಯ ಬಾಗಿಲಿಗೆ ತೋರಣ ಮಾಡಿ ಶೃಂಗಾರ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ತೋರಣ ಏಣೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ ಅಷ್ಟೋತ್ತಿಗೆ ದೀಪಾ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದಳು ನಾನು ಅವರ ತಂದೆ ತಾಯಿಯ ಯೋಗಕ್ಷೇಮ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿ ಅವಳು ತಂದಿದ್ದ ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೂವು ಮುಡಿದು ಬಾಗಿಲಿಗೆ ತೋರಣ ಹಾಕಿ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಸೇಬು ಹಣ್ಣನ್ನು ತಿಂದೆವು.ದೀಪಾಳ ಆಸೆಯಂತೆ ಚಿಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕನ್ ಮಾಡಲು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಸಾಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಇಬ್ಬರು ಸೇರಿ ರುಬ್ಬಿಕೊಂಡೆವು.ಮೊದಲು ಅಡುಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ದೀಪಾಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರುಬ್ಬಿದ ಮಸಾಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿ ಚಿಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಚಿಕನ್ ಸಾಂಬಾರ್ ಮಾಡಿದೆನು.ಜೋಳದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಊಟವನ್ನು ಸವಿದೆವು.
ನೀವೇ ಹೇಳಿ `ಅತಿಥಿ ದೇವೋಭವ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ´ಹೌದಲ್ಲವೇ

I made sweet wheat kadab for breakfast at home by mixing jaggery and wheat flour, making small, small balls and cooking them in hot water and eating them with dry grapes, cashews, ghee.On this day, my mother-in-law's daughter Deepa was coming home. She likes chicken very much, so I prepared chicken meat and spices to cook for her.
I used to think that the door of the house should be decorated with swag Meanwhile, Deepa came home and I inquired about the well-being of her parents We touched the jasmine flower that she had brought and put the swag at the door and went inside the house and ate the apple.
We ground all the spices together to make chili chicken as per Deepa's wish.First I told Deepa how to cook and made chili chicken and chicken sambar by adding all the ground spices.The two had a meal with corn bread.
