3 things I wish I knew about imposter syndrome before I became a doctor

Most people go through periods of imposter syndrome at times in their lives. Here are the three things I wish I'd known about imposter syndrome before I became a doctor:

1) Imposter syndrome affects nearly everyone, so talking about about it with other people will almost definitely make you (and the other person) feel better.

2) Imposter syndrome makes you feel like you're not good enough. Remember that it's ok to be a beginner. Ask questions and be curious.

3) If you're going through a bout of imposter syndrome, it's a sign of growth. It means you are challenging yourself and going from one stage in life to another, which is a good thing!
