In this video, you’ll learn how an electrolytic cell uses an external energy source to power a nonspontaneous, highly unfavorable redox reaction.
I’ll show you how to identify the half-reactions performed at the anode and cathode, as well as how to understand the charges on each of those electrodes.
You’ll also learn to draw all of the components of the cell, in detail, and recognize the major differences between the galvanic/voltaic cell and the electrolytic cell.
