This YouTube Video will show DIYers how to easily and accurately cut crown molding ON-THE-FLAT or what is also called a COMPOUND CUT. Using a SAWSET PROTRACTOR and your t-bevel you'll also learn how to use our Spring Angle Finder Charts and Cutting Aids. The miter saw cuts at a fraction of degree, so why not have an angle finder that can do the same? This tool is the perfect companion for your miter saw. If you own a miter saw, you NEED a SAWSET!
Your Miter Saw is designed with 2 adjustable angle settings. One at the back, which enables you to tilt/lean the blade, which gives you the bevel. The other is on the front of the saw, parallel to the saw table, to adjust for the miter setting. These settings done correctly will will give you that satisfying perfect fit!
When both settings are being used, it is called a compound miter. The compound cut is used mainly when cutting crown molding flat on the saw. There are advantages a disadvantages to this method. Advantage: The wood has great support from the fence and table of the saw. Disadvantage: Deciding the direction of the cuts and proper saw settings, which can be challenging.
