Two weeks after pushing Philipp Kohlschreiber to 5 sets in the first round of 2015 US Open, Alexander Zverev of Germany (18 years of age) had to face yet another tough challenge on the ATP tour in the face of Fernando Verdasco, Spain. Highlights of the interesting first round match of the 2015 Moselle Open. In 2015 Alexander Zverev reached his career high ranking - #74, and has been progressing constantly, winning the challenger title in Heilbronn 2 (d. Pella), reaching the semifinals of Bastad (l. to Robredo) and the quarterfinals of Washington (defeated Nishioka, Anderson and Dolgopolov, lost to Cilic in two tight sets). Verdasco on the other hand continues to dissapoint, he's reached only two ATP semifinals in 2015 (Quito, lost to Feliciano Lopez; Houston, lost to Sam Querrey)
