2 CSX Trains In Long Range Train Meet! Orange CP 8781 Hapag Lloyd Unit! Couple Trains w DPU Alrights!
4 Trains in all in this action packed train video filmed in and around Dun Kirk NY on December 16th 2021.
0:00 Intro.
0:59 We are at the CSX Mile Post 41 curve on 16 December 2021 as CSX train #O-17 approaches from the west end of the elevated tracks through Dunkirk, New York. At 2:15 a mid-train DPU appears as the train passes.
4:45 We are at the Berry Road crossing in Pomfret, New York on 13 December 2021 waiting for CSX train #I168 whose ditch lights we can see down the tracks as you zoom in on the train. AT 4:52 we see that train #I168 is crossing the Martin/Willow Rad crossing and the gates are going down at the Lake Road crossing. At 5:10 we hear the horn for the train's approach to the Lake Road crossing. We see the vehicles on the I-90, New York State Thruway, bridge passing over the train. The engines are smoking as train #I168 approaches the Berry Road crossing. As train #I168 passes Berry Road, we see that there are a lot of bare tables at the end of the train. As the gates at the Berry Road crossing go up, you zoom in on the end of the train as it continues east. At 7:48 the end of train #I168 passes the Mile Post 44.8 signals. At 8:11 the lights go out on the Mile Post 44.8 signals. The gates at the Van Burn Road crossing start to rise at 8:22. The signal bridge that we see in the background is the signal bridge at CSX Control Point 42. This Control Point is located east of the Temple Road crossing on the west side of Dunkirk, New York. The Control Point 42 signal bridge is about three miles east of the Berry Road crossing.
9:16 We see the headlight and ditch lights of an approaching westbound CSX train that is passing CSX train #I168 in the distance. The train that is approaching us is CSX train #Q367. At 12:54 we see that the lights on the Mile Post 44.8 signals are on. AS CSX train #Q367 approaches and passes the Berry Road crossing, we se that the first group of cars after the engines are open top hopper cars that are full of garbage. After the open top garbage hopper cars come the rest of the mixed freight cars on train #Q367. The open top garbage hopper cars will probably be dropped off at the Collingwood Yard in Cleveland, Ohio where they will be put on a train that goes to a garbage dump site in Ohio or Indiana. The garbage hopper cars do not make their way to the Belt Railway of Chicago's Clearing Yard. After train #Q367 passes Berry Road, you zoom in on the back of the train as it continues its journey west. We see that train #Q367 has both the Lake Road and the Martin/Willow Road crossings blocked. At 17:17 the Lake Road crossing gates go up as the train has past that crossing. We see the I-90, New York State Thruway, bridge over the train. Train #Q367 has past the Martin/Willow Road crossing at 18:09 because the gates at that crossing go up. At about 19:01 it looks like train #Q367 has past the Mile Post 47 signals. AT 19:57 you start to zoom back to a normal view and we see how far away train #Q367 is from the Berry Road crossing. You pan the camcorder to the east along the CSX tracks. At 20:22 we see your shadow move as you start to step in front of the camcorder to talk to us about the long distance train meet that we just saw.
21:21 It is 12 December 2021. We are at the CSX Berry Road crossing in Pomfret, New York as the gates go down in anticipation of the arrival of CSX train #I166. CSX train #Q166 is the daily Canadian Pacific run through intermodal train from Canadian Pacific's Schiller Park Intermodal Yard in Schiller Park, Illinois via the CSX Seneca Yard in Buffalo, New York to Montreal, Quebec, Canada. At 22:24 the end of train DPU appears in the form of Canadian Pacific engine #8781. This engine is painted orange and carries the Hapag-Lloyd logo and name on the long hood and the words "St. John Express" just behind the cab. The gates at the Berry Road crossing go up at 22:32.
