If YOU want to play piano with orchestra, check out some of my student pieces: https://www.b7musicstudio.com/product...

Beethoven's Sonata Pathetique is one of his most famous works for piano. One unique feature is its slow introduction, which was a convention borrowed from orchestral pieces.

What better piece to orchestrate? It turns out Bruckner's composition teacher thought the same thing.

Unfortunately, the manuscript of this composition (which was never published) was in private hands until 2015, so it has only been recorded once as of today (2017). https://www.abruckner.com/store/abruc...

I decided to make a rendition of it with my production software. It's not perfect, but it gives you an idea of what this would sound like.

Hoping this is useful to pianists wanting some inspiration for how to interpret it, and maybe also for people studying orchestration. :)
