(13 May 1988) QUOTE REF    PHILIPPINES/USA; Ex-Philippines President, Ferdinand Marcos,
GS16058813   asks to return to the Phillipines following the death of his
16.5.88      aged mother, Hosefa Edralin-Marcos. President Corazon Aquino
            has so far refused his request, which has been used to effect
            by pro-Marcos forces who have staged mock funerals in Manila
            to protest Aquino's refusal to allow the ex-dictator's
            return. In an interview in Honolulu, Marcos claimed he would
            support the Aquino government if allowed to return.
