Hatching all alone and without their parents present, these hatchlings emerge fresh out of their eggs, as little black Ridley turtle bachhas see light of world for first time. In the successful end game as their host country, rare Ridley Turtles breed along pristine Odisha coast sands in India, successfully reach the Bay of Bengal sea to migrate and begin their journey of life. Flippers run wild as turtle bachhas scurry towards the Bay of Bengal. Few will make it out alive. Human good samaritans lift the laggards and take them to the sea. When the life giving water itself turns the turtles upside down, along come these good samaritans who help rare Olive Ridley Turtles right themselves on Odisha beach, or they would die within hours. #turtle #turtles #tartaruga #ridley #oliveridley #oliveridleyturtle #turtlemigration Rare Turtles hatch en masse on Odisha coast of Bay of Bengal, all go scurrying to the sea! Their first experience of the world is that of a sandy struggle! This group of turtles young struggles to come out of their sandy nest, self born and with no help from their turtle parents. In this magical birth sequence, and in total darkness, baby Ridley Turtles emerge from their sandy nest holes, along Odisha coast. The turtles work entirely on instinct, with no parents around to help them, in typical reptile style. Turtle baby hatchlings emerge from their sandy home, and run towards the Bay of Bengal, with instinct driving them to safety, food and a secure future. But there are dangers that lurk along the way. The warm frothy waters of the Bay of Bengal ride up the sands and engulf the babies in a blanket of security. A House Crow turns turtle babies upside down as they ran towards the Bay of Bengal, to feast on them later. 999 out of 1000 Ridley Turtles born in India will perish and only one will survive. See some of those 999 babies that die... Truly sad, but then nature is truly red in tooth and claw, as one poetic sage once said... The crow turns several turtle babies over, to block off enough of a feast for later on, as once they reach the sea, they are essentially out of reach for the crows. A tiny baby new-hatched Olive Ridley Turtle struggles to get out of the sand, shortly after hatching in its sandy nest along the Odisha shore of the Bay of Bengal, at Rushikuliya / Rushikulya and Gahirmatha beaches. In what marks the end of the breeding season spent in India, and the beginning of their new lives, young hatchlings of Olive Ridley Turtles dig their way out of their sandy nest holes as they hatch, and quickly make their way to the cold waters of the Bay of Bengal, to make their way in a big bad world. Dangers lurk in the waters, and eventually only 1 in 1000 turtles will survive, but the dangers on land are even greater. From tourists to crows who can kill and pick them up, the turtles have a tough existence for their short time on land.
