Sir Philip Green gathered up his papers (main pictured) as he threatened to walk out of a key hearing with MPs today, branding them 'disgusting' and 'rude' for accusing him of trying to block the sale of BHS to Mike Ashley because of his 'ego'. The billionaire tycoon was challenged over claims that he stepped in to stop the sale of the ailing BHS to the Sports Direct owner earlier this year because of a personal grudge against Mr Ashley. After Sir Philip rejected the allegation - questioning on 'what possible basis' would he want to stop someone buying BHS - Labour MP Iain Wright suggested it was down to his 'ego'. In an extraordinary outburst after five and a half hours of questioning, Sir Philip snapped: 'That's really rude' and demanded an immediate apology. He then threatened to walk out, gathering his papers and muttering he was glad the meeting was finally over - but the Business and Pensions committees forced him to stay for another 20 minutes. It came after he finally said sorry for the £571million pensions black hole  left at BHS today and signalled he is preparing to step in to help save the fund with a £275million cash injection.
